Evaluation of Preliminary Task

For editing the final cut in our groups, we were split up so that I worked only with Billy. I did most of the editing because I wanted to make it very precise, I realise now that I shouldn't have taken control most of the time. During the begining stages of the editing, I found that all of the footage ran over the time limit by quite a lot and I noticed that the majority of it was just of either myself or Ellie walking to a chair. So a great deal of the walking was taken out.

When we thought the editing was almost finished, I noticed that we had completely forgotten about putting in the four pieces of dialogue so we then had to re-adjust all the timings again to be able to fit in the few seconds of speech.
We used a fade to black just before the last shot to emphasise time passing, during this, we had intended to add in some sound effects of gun shots but we had run out of time.

Overall I'm very pleased with the final outcome of the task. I think it looks very neat and I tried to make it as close to 30 seconds as possible.

Filming a shot-reverse shot conversation before the big climax.

Some of the skills we practised are match on action, using different camera techniques like panning and zooming. We could have remembered to use the rule of thirds.

Filming Ellie walking to a chair to sit down, the table and chairs have been set up properly to keep smooth continuity.

The equiptment we used for filming were a Canon Legria camcorder and a tri-pod. We used Adobe Premiere software to edit.
