Editing Update 6

I have re-arranged the order of a lot of the shots, it now starts with the main characters introducing themselves to the camera. Then some photos will be presented and then there is interviews with the characters about themselves. The ending is a few more photos and the characters talk a little more before some group photos are shown.

Final Filming

I have finished all my filming!

I have now got several interviews and one is of some children where their mother was asking them the questions, I originally planned on filming them indoors but it was too noisy so I had to shoot outside. It was difficult to get lighting done that well because of how quickly it now gets dark due to it being wintertime.....

But I'm confident that the dark lighting won't have too much of an effect on my project.

Editing Update 5

I have decided to add in a variety of different transitions as opposed to just using fades. This means the look of the documentary will be more interesting and I have also shown that I can be creative even when moving from one shot to the next.

Editing Update 4

I tried to take make a vox pop out of this logo:

I then just took the words:

and put them into my production:

However, this just seemed to make it look sinister which is definitely NOT what my intention was.

Therefore, I either need to:

-Change the colours to make them lighter

or

- Completely take out the logo and do something else

Filming Photos

This is tof he traditional Chinese Lion Dance, I think it is important for me to involve a lot of the culture in my documenary as it is a main focus point, and I think my target audience members will find this type of footage intersting!







I had a lot of fun with the filming on the day, with the older girls. We had a lot of laughs and I am planning on putting a lot of the footage in my production.

This final photo is of me (left) and Adele (right) she was in a lot of the filming, so I might not include all of it.

Interview

I have voice recorded an interview conversation that I had with my mum and dad individually which I will include in my production, however they was over 6 minutes long, so I think I will only include one of two of the questions that I asked them.
I am yet to add any other video footage as I need to film some more new things, such as a family sitting together or mother and child having fun together.

Editing Update 3

I have added super impositions after the main title, also I re-arranged a lot of the shots to make them work better with the music I had put them with.

The clothes that they are wearing in these photographs are similar to what they will wear in my production. They range from being quite formal and special looking to a casual occasion.

Editing Update 2

I added more songs and video clips. I also put in a few titles where I think they would be relevant, such as shot phrases and questions. I have tried to time the cuts perfectly with the pace of the music that I have put in. However, I have got lots of gaps where I need to put in additional clips so I need to do more filming very soon. I also need to put in some video transitions because I haven't done any yet.

Editing Update 1

So far, I have already got the music sorted and some clips onto the computer.
I have already started to edit them together using Premiere Editing Software . I have decided to start with the music first and then add the video clips afterwards, this is because I may not like some of the shots and I am also still missing some things so it will be easier this way. I also know that I will change my mind quite a lot with the order of the shots, but I already know which songs I will include.

Locations

 This is the reception area of a hotel of which a lot of reunions have taken place. I have some footage of a lion dance which happened in this place. I also have clip of other activities but also in this hotel.

If I'm getting desperate that I don't have enough footage, I will film some things at this event:

It is the Mid-Autumn Festival, a highly prestigious and cultural celebration.
